For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes … (Romans 1:16)
Have you made your group’s plans for the holiday season? Thanksgiving and Christmas are wonderful seasons to celebrate all that God has given to us. He gives us daily blessings, as well as the incredible gift of His Son Jesus Christ. How can the women in your church celebrate?
Perhaps this would be a good chance to bring the women together for a Thanksgiving or Christmas Bible study. You might want to include snacks or even Christmas caroling. Another suggestion might be to host a Thanksgiving dinner for those who have family far away. You might even choose to have an Advent celebration event in preparation for the busy holiday. A Christmas Tea is an innovative possibility. Check out resources in the 2017–2019 reSOURCEs for Planning Programs as well as the Program Helps available from the LWML Catalog or as downloads from the website at www.lwml.org.
Don’t forget to publicize the event you choose so you can involve as many women as possible. Have fun as you plan and implement your activity … and celebrate! Zephaniah 3:14: Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
